On land, at sea and in the cloud

In our project with Sea-Cargo AS we exceeded the IT Manager's expectations for direct financial benefits. We identified areas where cost savings could be achieved without compromising performance or functionality. We also provided a roadmap for potential optimizations and improvements leaving Sea Cargo satisfied with the results.

Client: Sea-Cargo AS

Project: Cloud Assessment

Date: September 2024

Sea-Cargo, established in 2001, is an experienced operator within maritime transport between Norway and Europe. The shipping company owns and operates a modern fleet of multi-functional vessels and offers a wide range of tailored services. The extensive network of offices in Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK ensures seamless operations and local presence. The shipping company is committed to delivering efficient, reliable and cost-effective transport solutions.

To be honest, I did not expect much direct financial gain from the analysis, so when we received recommendations that provide cost savings, in addition to good advice and confirmation of what we had already done, I am very satisfied with the result.

Sveinung Hveding, IT Manager

The project

As an innovative company, Sea Cargo seeks continuous improvement, which led them to our Cloud Assessment service. This is a broad survey of the strategy, plans and finances linked to the client’s current and future cloud solutions. The service is always provided at a fixed price and with a “no cure, no pay” guarantee.

The goal of a Cloud Assessment is always to provide the client with insight that enables him to make solid plans for the future, and make informed decisions around services, architecture and economics in the cloud. We always strive to complete the survey without taking up too much of the client’s precious time. Sveinung Hveding, IT Manager at Sea Cargo, saw the potential to optimize costs, while at the same time getting an evaluation of existing plans. Through the collaboration with us, the shipping company was able to identify areas where cost could be reduced without compromising performance and functionality.

The project was completed in 4 weeks. During this time, we conducted 1 on-site workshop and 2 virtual ones. In these meetings, we collected as much information as possible, and were able to analyze and process this further without using up more of Sveinung’s time. At the end of the project, we were able to hand over a 15-page report with a scorecard and some clear recommendations in the areas of Cost Management, Strategy and Roadmap, Business Optimization and Cloud Governance.

In the words of the client

When the project was completed and handed over, we asked Sveinung about his thoughts on the delivery:

– What are your thoughts on the project execution?

– The execution was professional. A well-prepared consultant who took a structured approach to obtaining the necessary data and set-up, to carry out the analysis without using more of our time than necessary.

– What effects have you seen?

– So far, it has not produced any effects, apart from the fact that we have received confirmation that we have done a lot right in terms of our cloud setup. Furthermore, we have been pointed out some areas to explore, where there may be room for savings.

– How satisfied are you with the result?

– To be honest, I did not expect much direct financial gain from the analysis, so when we received recommendations that provide cost savings, in addition to good advice and confirmation of what has already been done, I am very satisfied with the result.

We at Finalyze are grateful to be selected to deliver our Cloud Assessment to such a results-oriented and technology-optimized player as Sea-Cargo. It is a good confirmation for us to experience that they are well satisfied.
